Scope

This Policy applies to the Cylent website, contact and proof-of-concept forms, business communications, events and related online interactions. It does not replace a customer agreement, data-processing agreement or engagement-specific notice. Those documents control for the services they cover.

Information we collect

Information you provide

We collect information you choose to give us, such as your name, work email, company, role, primary domain, message content and other details submitted through a form, email, event or meeting. If you become a customer, we may also process business contact, contracting, billing, support and engagement information.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Site, our systems and service providers may collect IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, timestamps and diagnostic or security logs. We may collect some of this information through cookies or similar technologies.

Information from other sources

We may receive professional contact and company information from colleagues, business partners, service providers, public sources or events. During an authorized security engagement, Cylent may also process public or customer-provided technical data under the governing service agreement.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

• respond to inquiries and proof-of-concept requests;
• establish, manage and support business relationships;
• provide and administer authorized services;
• operate, troubleshoot, analyze and improve the Site and our services;
• protect our systems, investigate abuse, prevent fraud and maintain security;
• send relevant product or company communications, subject to your choices and applicable law; and
• comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We may aggregate or de-identify information so that it no longer reasonably identifies an individual, and use that information for analytics, research and service improvement.

Legal bases

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following: your consent; taking steps at your request or performing a contract; compliance with a legal obligation; and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving our business, communicating with business contacts and preventing misuse. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

How we share information

We may share personal information only as reasonably necessary with:

• vendors that support hosting, communications, customer relationship management, analytics, security, billing and other business operations;
• affiliates, contractors and professional advisers who need the information for their work;
• authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, systems or the public;
• a prospective or actual buyer, investor or successor in connection with a financing, reorganization, merger, acquisition or asset transfer; and
• another party when you direct us or give consent.

Our service providers may process information only for the services they provide to us and subject to appropriate contractual restrictions. Cylent does not sell personal information for money.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies and similar technologies can help the Site function, remember preferences, understand usage and detect abuse. You can control cookies through your browser or device settings. Blocking some technologies may affect Site functionality. If we introduce optional analytics or advertising technologies that require consent, we will provide the choices required by applicable law.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide services, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal, tax, accounting or security obligations. Retention periods vary according to the information, context and applicable requirements.

International transfers

Cylent and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where it was collected. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections or another lawful transfer mechanism.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or lodge a complaint with a privacy regulator.

You can opt out of marketing emails through the unsubscribe link in a message. To make another privacy request, email hello@cylent.io with the subject “Privacy request.” We may need to verify your identity or authority before completing a request.

Children and third-party links

The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

The Site may link to services that Cylent does not operate. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, and we encourage you to review them.

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our practices, services or legal obligations. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. When required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
